Contest ***Do You have the best" Workplace Look of the Week?"

I am looking to interview people for the next couple of months for their best work attire. You will get a spot on my blog, twitter, and facebook for a week and who knows what other kind of press.  "Workplace Look of the week" is very dear to my heart because it is inspired from celebrity look of the week.  Meaning we constantly see celebrities and that is great, but everyone knows that the best fashion comes from every day people like you and I. Therefore, the idea is to inspire and give confidence to other new professionals that may be new to the work force and need some inspiration.   The idea is to show how your confidence inspire others, which intern makes your outfit the best look of the week.

Ok, so I am looking to add a new segment to my blog. It will be called "Workplace Look of the Week".  Over the next couple of months I will pick a person for the week based on the number of entries.  What I would like to do is get about twenty looks on the blog and have people vote at the end of each month and select a winner.  The winner will receive some type of fashion prize. So here are the rules:
Here are the rules:

1. Submit a picture of your work attire, no logos, or corporations logos in the background to my email address: whatisthedresscode@gmail.com
2.. Describe where your bought your outfit  piece by piece and that is also including accessories with price. In total your outfit must not cost more than two hundred dollars including shoes.
3. Tell me how you feel in your outfit? Did you get a lot of compliments?  How did you come up with the look and what or who inspired it?
4. Your outfit must be original meaning this can not be the standard suit off the rack.
5. Lastly you must sign up to this blog and tell your friends to vote for you.

This  contest will run for the whole duration of November. I would love to make this segment an on going part of my blog. So in order to do that I need as many entries as possible but for November the first 20 looks will close for the month of November.  Any entries received after November will go to the next month and so on.
Good Luck I can not wait to see all the great looks!! Also, I will annouce the "Fashion Prize" midway during the contest.

Where is Fashion T?

Ok, so for those of you wondering where the "heck" is Fashion T....I am so embarrassed to say that ...
My camera needs batteries and my phone is overloaded.. What had happened was, I went to take a picture with my phone and nothing happened.  I had styled my hair really cute for the office and I wanted to show you all.  I may have to borrow the hubs phone this afternoon, hopefully, the rain doesn't ruin my hair with the humidity. Natural hair plus rain equals a disaster!!!..You know I never realize just how many pictures I take and how much I depend on my camera..  I know what you are thinking....

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses...

Anyhow, I plan to have all up and running by the weekend, so that I can show you my hottest outfits for work and what I have bought.  I was thinking about giving away from my closet, things that I no longer want, haven't used, (just collecting dust :) so that will be fun. I have a lot of fun things planned for the holiday season...

OK, I say all that to say, I am here, just technologically out of commission temporary!

Look of the Week goes to????

The Three P's....Pollished, Poised, & Professional

Whether you are looking for a job, a new position, or trying to get a promotion.  The three P's can get you towards your goal.

So let's break down what the three P's do and how they look and function.

1.  Polished- perfected or made shiny and smooth; "his polished prose"; "in a freshly ironed dress and polished shoes"; "freshly polished silver".  That is the definition from the dictionary.  In the simplest form polished in my opinion is well groomed and put together from head to toe.  When I think of someone who is polished all the time is think of Kim Kardashian. Of course there are many others, but I chose Kim because she has perfected day and night looks, and she is one of my favorite celebs for inspiration.

So what makes  a polished look. It starts with the right outfit, the right amount of make up, and the right accessories, shoes, bag , hair and nails well groomed for the occasion.   The key is to dress for the job that you want, not the job that you have.

2. Poised -self-possessed; dignified; exhibiting composure. That was from the dictionary. My definitionwould be grace. This in my opinion  because it takes a great deal of practice. Poised is to walk in a certain manner, speak in a certain manner,  its the whole package of grace from head to toe.  Another way to describe poised is pure confidence and class.  So when I think of poised I think of one person.  Our first lady Michelle Obama.

Somehow the first lady has mastered how to keep her look graceful even when she is dressed down. I believe this is key in the workplace once you already the job.

3.  Professional-  definition - Conforming to the standards of a profession:  In my opinion, professional is the norm of the job when we are talking about dressing for the workplace.  Meaning, dressing in a manner for the dress code, which in turn may or may not be professional.   So, who do I think of when I think of professional?  This is a trick question.  What?????  That's right I am my own example of professional. See I know how I want to look, I know the dress code, and  I know what looks good on my body.  Therefore, professional to  you and I can vary depending on the dress code.  However, I believe that everyone should have a clear understanding about what Professional is and how to develop your own professional style.

The point to all of this is simply to think about what inspires your own look.

So what are you Three P's inspiration?

Working Out can Boost Self- Esteem!!!

Work out Helps you Work on your Self Esteem

Article by Ata

According to Nike’s pan-European marketing campaign, there are several reasons for a woman to start working out and getting active. Exercise is a way to improve your health and fitness; it is the path to improve your spiritual strength and a wonderful source of energy.
But first of all, I have to admit that I am not one of those people that can’t begin their day without running 5 miles. But the results of a research made on behalf of Nike gave me the motive to start thinking of making exercise part of my every day routine.
These results stated that 83% of the women that work out daily said that exercise has helped them in their career and had also positive effects with their studies. 72% of those women claim to feel more attractive and beautiful since they began working out plus 37% said that they now believe in themselves more.
As for sex life, relationships, erotic mood, sexual instinct and sexual activity everything seems to be better according to 25% of everyday athletes.
