When was The Last Time??????

Workouts

When was the last time you did something for....................YOU?

As a woman we tend to take care of everyone else and put ourselves at the bottom of the list Especially if you have children, house, dog, cat, husband...You get the drift. Anyways, what I have observed over the years is that many women tend to get stuck in a particular decade or "season".  I DON'T HAVE TIME becomes the number one reason for lack of exercise, that doctors appointment, or biopsy that is dread. I can only remember a friend of a friend saying only, if she had her annual pap test she would have beaten stage 4 ovarian cancer. So yes, this list goes from something as  little as getting a new hair cut to as serious as getting a mammogram..But the question still becomes....When was the last time you did something for YOU?

Fashion T:  The last time I did something for me was last weekend I bought myself three pairs of shoes, which was well needed. I can't remember the last time I actually bought myself something without feeling guilty.  On a daily basis, I try to work out in the morning, which is the best gift of feeling good.  People, if you don't have a workout regimen I highly recommend starting out with walking.  Walking alone can be so therapeutic. In addition to working out, over the last two weeks, I have been taking my vitamins faithfully. I am a person that dreads  taking pills so this is HUGE for me!! Lastly, last month I finally went to my least favorite place...The dentist. I have no major problems with my teeth, but I have to get one more wisdom tooth out and that appointment is scheduled.

So, When was the last time you did something for YOU?

Happy Friday!

Well again it going to be over 100 degrees!! This heat is brutal and my office is an ice box.  What to wear to work has been difficult over the past week, but here is how I managed.

1.  Most of the week I wore a skirt or dress.
2.  Keep a sweater in the office just in case it gets too cold. Opt for a neutral color to match with everything.
3.  I kept my hair in a up do. I don't have enough hair yet for a ponytail, so I have to opt for a pinned up do. Otherwise I am sure I would have rocked a pony.
4.  Comfortable shoe that is work appropriate and comfy. No one wants a sweaty foot at the end of the day. Let those toes breathe.
5.  Sunscreen and lots of water.

This weekend I have lots on my agenda but hopefully I will get some time to post new picts for you all. What are you doing for the weekend? Any shopping, sales, I wanna know?

Look of the week...Kim Kardashian

KIM KARDASHIAN photo | Kim Kardashian

I am loving this outfit!

My take on The First Lady looking Gorgeous!!!

Sharp As A Tack

What I like about what first lady Michelle Obama is of course her intelligence first along with a slew of other things, but one that is always mentionable, is of course her classic style.  As you all know, it has been hot all around the Country except for..... Alaska....Moving along,  I really love her updo hair style because for one it looks so effortless!!! I haven't been able to determine if she is natural as myself or opts for a perm. However, whatever she does with her hair it is classic.  Today, I myself have my natural hair pinned up to defeat the heat. Well mostly the humidity..For those of you who aren't aware of what humidity does to natural hair let's just say major shrinkage and frizz..Another thing about updo's in the summer is that it can be very Professional for the office, meetings, weddings etc. (you get my drift)  Today was the first day this week that I pinned my hair up and I must say that the compliments are a coming in y'all!! (that's my Paula Deen voice from food network..love her)  Anyways, I am particularly in love with dresses and skirts, if you haven't already noticed.  This wrap dress that First Lady Michelle is wearing can be worn on all figures. Particularly the wrap dresses tend to make us look smaller because of the waste that is created.  I haven't done the research to see where she purchase this dress, but you can definitely find a similar dress at any department store. If your budget doesn't permit then go to my go to spot, which is over course Marshall's and TJ Maxx they never let me down and I am sure they won't let you down either. I have posted some picts of items on sale.  (I still haven't gotten my batteries for my camera but I may be able to post of a picture of my hair later.) Tell me your thoughts on wrap dresses. Do you wear them to work or are they apart of your wardrobe?

I love my outfit today!!!

So today, I really feel good in my outfit for work today.  It was actually a shocker because its  going to be 97 degrees today. I really had no idea what I was going to wear to work, but at the last minute I remembered that I have this black and white skirt that I haven't wore in ages.  (which by the way I bought from Marshalls a few summers ago..love that store)  So I paired the black and white skirt with a cream lace tank. (the lace is in the back) Of course I have on a cardigan, which is Purple. I think I am in a purple phase right now.  Not sure how my hubby will fill about that, since we try to match our outfits when we go out...Don't judge!!! Yes we are on of those couples:) Sometimes, I try to get my daughter to coordinate as well. (she is 12) She looks at me side ways because she thinks I am crazy... Anyways, I opted to wear my purple head ban at the last minute, which I think pulled the whole look together. Let's see how many compliments I get at work today.  I will have to post a better picture later my camera ran out of batteries, but I did manage to get a picture in, which by the way the memory is full on that...Geesh!! I apologize on the blurr I will get a full pict. later.

So what are you wearing to work today and how do you feel?

Self Esteem

So today I wanted to talk  a little bit about self esteem and how what you wear can lift or damper your mood.  Usually on Mondays, most people dread going into the office. Mainly because many do not have the luzury of doing what they love.  This can put anyone in a funky state of mind when you hate your job, but you need the money.  Now this is when your wardrobe and surrondings should be there to get you out of the " funk state of mind."  So here is a list of things you can do to get you out of the funk and lift your self-esteem.

Monday - Wear a jewel color either a blue or green blouse or dress.
Tuesday- Bring flowers into the office to put at your desk.
Wednesday - Practice affirmations first thing in the morning in front of a mirror or quiet place before you leave the house.  Example - I am worthy of success, I am Worthy of love, I am Worthy to be great!
Thursday -  Bring out those perfect pumps. The ones that make you taller than everyone in the office. A great shoe will boost your height and compliments.
Friday - Always, Always, Always have a Friday lunch that requires an outdoor experience.  Walk to your company's building  or find a nearby trail .  Park your car a little bit further from the restaurant and enjoy the breeze. If the weather doesn't permit try going into a cafe or book store you never been in. The point is to explore something new, which in turn may inspire something different about yourself.  The key is to do all these things frequently and love yourself.
